Disney Wish is the first ship in Disney Cruise Line's new Wish class — a deliberate departure from traditional cruise ship design. The ship is built around a spectacular three-deck Grand Hall inspired by fairy tale castles, with storytelling woven into every public space. The outdoor deck footprint is segmented rather than a traditional open wrap-around promenade — the ship is designed to draw families inward into its immersive themed environments. The result is genuinely extraordinary for Disney fans and potentially overwhelming for guests who prioritize open ocean space and traditional cruise atmosphere.

Disney Wish uses a rotational dining system where your service team rotates with you across three immersive main dining venues — Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure (Frozen-themed with live entertainment), Worlds of Marvel (Avengers-themed with interactive story elements), and 1923 (an upscale venue honoring Walt Disney's founding year). All three are fully included in the base cruise fare — the theatrical dinner experiences are not upcharges. Premium adult-only dining at Palo Steakhouse and Enchanté by Chef Arnaud Lallement carry per-person surcharges not included in the base fare.

AquaMouse is Disney's first attraction at sea — a 760-foot water flume slide that integrates animated cartoon story segments on screens throughout the ride. It's a genuine attraction, not just a waterslide, and the storytelling integration is unlike anything else on a cruise ship. Wait times are real: the AquaMouse draws its longest queues immediately after embarkation and during sea day afternoons. The ship also features a multi-tiered pool area with AquaLab splash zones for younger children, a Star Wars Hyperspace Lounge, and the Hero Zone sports area.

Disney Cruise Line commands a significant premium over mainstream cruise lines — typically 2-3x the base fare of comparable Royal Caribbean or Norwegian sailings of the same length. What's included justifies a meaningful portion of that gap: soft drinks are complimentary throughout the sailing, Disney character encounters and meet-and-greets are included, Broadway-caliber production shows are included, and there is no casino onboard. The honest watch-out: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique princess makeovers, Castaway Cay beach cabana rentals, and Palo/Enchanté dining are premium upcharges that can add significantly to the final bill for families with young children.
