AIDAcosma

AIDAcosma launched in 2023 as AIDA's second LNG-powered ship, sister to AIDAnova. She carries approximately 6,600 passengers — AIDA's largest ship class — and represents the most modern hardware in the AIDA fleet. The ship features the full AIDA club-ship concept at mega-ship scale: the Beach Club, multiple pool decks, Theatrium entertainment space, and AIDA's signature buffet-first dining model.

AIDAcosma runs on liquefied natural gas — producing virtually zero sulfur emissions and significantly reduced particulate matter versus conventional marine fuel. For environmentally conscious families, this is a real differentiator. AIDA has positioned its LNG fleet as Europe's most eco-forward mainstream cruise offering. The practical onboard experience is identical to conventional ships — the LNG advantage is environmental, not experiential.

At 6,600 passengers, AIDAcosma is significantly larger than traditional AIDA ships that built the brand's reputation. The German club-ship atmosphere that AIDA loyalists prize — the sense of familiarity, the beer garden culture, the Theatrium intimacy — is diluted at this scale. Reviews in the VOYGR database show AIDAcosma scores well on food quality, LNG innovation, and cabin standards, but lower on the intimate atmosphere that smaller AIDA ships deliver.

AIDAcosma follows AIDA's standard fare structure: gratuities are included in the base fare, and house wine, draught beer, and soft drinks are included during buffet meal hours — a meaningful advantage over Costa and MSC which add service charges and charge for all beverages. Premium drinks outside meal hours require a package upgrade.
